How Advanced Completed Two Successful Remote Go Lives

July 30, 2020 | Harnett County, NC, Ontario, CA and Toronto, ON

Through adaptability and ingenuity Advanced Utility Systems (Advanced) has brought two of its customers live on Infinity CIS – our industry-leading customer information and utility billing solution – using 100% remote communication and activities.

Amidst the current global situation, we have had to figure out new and innovative ways to realize our goals including how to manage and deliver successful go lives of our software. What was considered out of reach four months ago has increasingly become the norm.

As a result and because of our commitment to being leaders in our industry, we took advantage of technology, such as smart video conferencing cameras that capture 360° video and audio for a near face-to-face experience, to complete two go lives on the same day with its customers Harnett County, NC and the City of Ontario, CA.

In addition to technology, we adapted our implementation methodology with respect to areas such as testing support and training to accommodate the remote go live requirements.

We dedicated staff full-time to our projects two weeks before go live. We also put in the necessary hours to provide an issue free closure to the project.

To maximize efficiency during this time we held multiple meetings simultaneously on various video conferencing/online meeting platforms so that we could discuss issues, share multiple screens and fix issues right away.

Harnett County Department of Public Utilities (HCDPU) is the largest regional water and wastewater utility in the state of North Carolina. They provide service to 125,000 people in Harnett County and the surrounding Cape Fear region as well as several other local municipalities.

HCDPU replaced their outdated AS/400 system and will be using Infinity CIS to eliminate paper-based processes, access important data using the robust reporting engine and configure complex rates for billing.

HCDPU will also be utilizing Infinity.Mobile, a complementary solution to Infinity CIS, which will allow the utility to manage service orders in the field.

The City of Ontario is located in Southern California, 38 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The City provides water, wastewater, stormwater and integrated waste (trash) to their approximately 180,000 residents.

Our staff are comprised of problem solvers who are dedicated to the success of our customers when it comes to customer information and utility billing management. We have been successful in being agile enough to adapt to current conditions and our implementation methodology is designed to flex for any situation.
