Advanced focuses on people and process to deliver uneventful implementations – and that’s a good thing

March 31, 2020 | Lawrence, KS and Toronto, ON

Predictable and uneventful aren’t always seen as positives, however when it comes to software implementations these qualities are definitely a good thing.

Advanced recently brought the City of Lawrence, Kansas live on Infinity CIS, our industry-leading customer information system. The go-live was uneventful and the City was back to business as usual the next day.

  • Customer Since: 2018
  • Number of Accounts: 34,000
  • Service: Water, Sewer, Solid Waste, Storm Water

From previous software implementations we’ve been involved with, we understand the uncertainty that can come with a project of this scope and nature. As such, our team worked closely with the Advanced implementation team to identify and minimize any risks to the project to ensure a successful go-live.

This was a well-managed project from beginning to end and that’s the kind of predictability we needed because we wanted to make sure we had a seamless transition from our old CIS system to Infinity CIS as well as uninterrupted customer service.

So what makes our implementations uneventful?

People and process.

Our core teams include dedicated team members who bring deep technical and business expertise to our implementations.

The Advanced Trainers were excellent and really helpful. They worked with us one-on-one to make sure we fully understood how to use the product and had everything we needed to do our jobs.

Working with the Advanced Application Consultant was a true collaboration. He was extremely patient and we were dedicated to coming up with the best solutions to solve complex and unique problems to our situation.

In terms of process, Advanced has more than 150 successful customer deployments and has received multiple implementation awards that prove we deliver the best solution within the most appropriate timeframe.

The Advanced implementation methodology includes an iterative approach to testing which led us to building familiarity and comfort with Infinity CIS so that we could identify any potential problems but it also gave us lots of time to build competency with the product.

Since 1997, Advanced has been dedicated to providing Customer Information and Billing solutions exclusively to municipal, investor owned and cooperative utilities. However, we believe that success rests not only on the quality and stability of the software, but on the strength of the professional services that back it up.

Once you find a Customer Information System that suits your needs it is important that the vendor behind the product can deliver an exceptional implementation experience. This results in minimizing stress amongst your staff during the project as well as minimizing disruptions to your operations.
