AGM Fundraiser Provides More Than 3,000 Meals Through Daily Bread Food Bank
At Advanced Utility Systems, we believe that when people come together to help one another, we can build a stronger community. That spirit was on full display during our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June, when employees rallied in support of the Daily Bread Food Bank, one of Toronto’s leading organizations addressing food insecurity.
As part of the AGM, team members participated in a fundraiser benefiting Daily Bread Food Bank located in Toronto, ON, with Advanced committing to match employee contributions. Advanced launched in response to growing food insecurity and the recognition that many people in the communities where our employees, customers, and partners live are struggling to access nutritious food.
The response from our team was remarkable.
The generosity of Advanced employees, combined with the company’s matching contribution, provided the equivalent of more than 3,000 meals for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across Toronto. According to Daily Bread Food Bank, employee fundraising efforts alone provided more than 2,000 meals, while Advanced’s corporate match enabled an additional 1,000 meals for clients across the city.
“We wanted to extend a heartfelt thanks to you and the team at Advanced Utility Systems for your AGM fundraiser in support of Daily Bread Food Bank last month,” said Leaura da Mota, Development Officer at Daily Bread Food Bank. “Your fundraising efforts provided the equivalent of over 3,000 meals to clients across Toronto, helping to close out the fiscal year on a high note.”
The fundraiser was a fitting addition to an AGM that focused on collaboration, innovation, and coming together as one team. Alongside presentations, team-building activities, recognition of employee milestones, and discussions about the future of AI and utility technology, employees had the opportunity to make a meaningful impact beyond the workplace.
Daily Bread Food Bank plays a critical role in supporting people facing hunger across Toronto. The organization works with a network of 144 member agencies and 214 food programs, helping ensure individuals and families can access healthy, nutritious food in a respectful and dignified way. In addition to providing immediate food support, Daily Bread advocates for long-term solutions to address poverty and food insecurity.
The need for support continues to grow. Daily Bread reports that food insecurity remains a significant challenge throughout Toronto, making the contributions of donors, volunteers, corporate partners, and community organizations more important than ever. Through initiatives like this fundraiser, organizations and individuals can help ensure that people have access to the food they need today while supporting efforts to build a future without hunger.
We are incredibly proud of everyone who contributed to this effort. The success of the fundraiser reflects the generosity, compassion, and community spirit that define the Advanced Utility Systems team.
