St. Paul, MN and Toronto, Canada. February 16, 2010
Saint Paul Regional Water Services (SPRWS) has completed its implementation of CIS Infinity, the customer information and billing solution offered by Advanced Utility Systems.
Peter Fanous, General Manager of Advanced, comments on the implementation: “Along with providing CIS Infinity, Advanced is committed to working with its clients to establish a long-term working relationship that begins with the initial implementation. The establishment of a solid, productive relationship cannot succeed however, without the investment of the client. Under the leadership of Steve Gleason, SPRWS Business Division Manager, this project was a true joint effort. The client project team consistently had focus and dedication from project start-up to go-live.”
SPRWS’ legacy system had served them well in the past. However, SPRWS looked to CIS Infinity to provide them with the flexibility, interoperability and functionality they currently required.
Advanced worked with SPRWS early on in the implementation to thoroughly gather the functional and technical specifications required for all interfaces to CIS Infinity. These interfaces included: ACH Direct payments, Automated Meter Reading, IVR, Remittance Processor, Property Owner Database, Financials, Documentum document management system, GIS and plumbing permitting system. The specifications combined with CIS Infinity’s ability to integrate with a wide range of industry applications allowed Advanced to provide SPRWS with a cohesive and customized network of software systems for timely information exchange.
According to Steve Gleason, SPRWS Business Division Manager, "CIS Infinity integrates with nearly all our other applications. We anticipate this will help us to carry out our business processes end to end more efficiently.”
Mr. Gleason continues, "More specifically, CIS Infinity is interfaced with our CMMS work order management system. With this in place, we are looking forward to benefiting from the service order completion code functionality. This functionality will allow us to automatically generate actions such as placing notes on asset history, applying charges to accounts and generating letters.”
Mr. Fanous elaborates on the integration strategy behind CIS Infinity: "From the start CIS Infinity was designed with a focus on integration. Every utility is different and CIS Infinity is adaptable to deal with a multitude of unique interface requirements. This adaptability in turn translates into a fast and cost effective integration process for our clients.”
CIS Infinity will carry out billing for SPRWS’ 95,000 accounts.
In addition, SPRWS anticipates that its end users will make extensive use of the broad functionality CIS Infinity provides. In particular, SPRWS will be taking full advantage of the filtering and search functions. SPRWS will also use the collection module to better manage payment arrangements, various notices and service orders. Using CIS Infinity functionality, SPRWS will also be able to complete their tax certification process.
With their CIS Infinity implementation complete, SPRWS is now looking forward to offering online billing to its customers through Advanced’s Infinity.Link.
