Fort Wayne, IN and Toronto, ON. January 21, 2014
Advanced Utility Systems, a division of N. Harris Computer Corporation ("Advanced”) is pleased to announce that the Fort Wayne City Utilities (“FWCU”), has selected Advanced’s CIS Infinity to replace its legacy customer information and utility billing solution.
FWCU is a department of the City of Fort Wayne. FWCU serves over 100,000 water and sewer customers in and around its municipal limits, covering approximately 80 square miles. FWCU’s customer base is comprised of residential, commercial, industrial, governmental, and wholesale customers. The population of the area served by FWCU exceeds 225,000 people. FWCU is governed by a three-member Board of Public Works.
In 2012, FWCU identified the need to replace its 20 year old legacy Customer Information System (CIS) with a proven state-of-the-art solution. FWCU required a CIS that would provide an integrated environment with which FWCU could support their operations and management needs including but not limited to enrolling new customers, generating billing, managing remittances and credit/collections, tracking water consumption, tracking and managing meters, and handling customer inquiries, complaints, and service orders. The CIS needed the flexibility to support multiple billing structures, rates and frequencies, and enable customer access to a variety of account information.
In late 2012, FWCU partnered with EMA, Inc. to release a request for proposal for a new CIS. After a comprehensive due diligence process that included detailed demonstrations from qualified vendors, and thorough reference checks, FWCU selected Advanced Utility Systems and CIS Infinity.
“We are excited to add FWCU to the Advanced family of over 120 utilities,” states Peter Fanous, Executive Vice President for Advanced. “CIS Infinity will help FWCU enhance its customer service functions to benefit its customers. We look forward to a strong business relationship and successful implementation of CIS Infinity at FWCU.”
Advanced was onsite in early December to kick off the project.
