Kissimmee, FL and Toronto, Canada. May 2, 2006
As part of its mission to provide reliable and economical services to its customers, Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) of Kissimmee, Florida has selected CIS Infinity®, the customer information and billing system offered by Advanced Utility Systems (Advanced) and has signed an agreement for ongoing service and support.
Founded in 1901, KUA owns, operates and manages the municipal electric system and in partnership with the Toho Water Authority, reads water meters and bills for water in combination with the electric billing. KUA bills its 60,000 customers in Kissimmee and surrounding areas for electric, water, reclaimed water, sewer, storm water and internet services. KUA’s vision is to be the right utility, providing the right services, at the right time.
KUA’s current customer information and billing application, HTE’s UtilityPLUS, utilizes a DB2 database and runs on an AS/400. In selecting a new CIS, KUA’s goals included modernizing the technology and harmonizing their various business applications on SQL Server.
Jef Gray, Vice President Information Technology at KUA commented: “When selecting a CIS vendor we felt it was important to select a company with a strong understanding of customer service and a clear vision of product development. We felt Advanced met both requirements.” Mr. Gray continued: “Integration between our billing system and other applications in use at KUA is critical, so we are excited to take advantage of the recently enhanced integration between CIS Infinity and the Great Plains financial software.”
Patricia Sorbara, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Advanced said this about the partnership forming between Advanced and KUA: “Advanced is delighted to add another client in the Florida marketplace. We have focused on this market for some time and are excited that a sophisticated and customer focused client such as Kissimmee Utility Authority has selected Advanced and CIS Infinity to meet their current and future needs.”
KUA is the fourth Advanced client in Florida along with Seacoast Utility Authority in Palm Beach Gardens, Reedy Creek Improvement District of Lake Buena Vista, and Energy Services of Pensacola.
