Country of Suriname - through its electricity provider - selects CIS Infinity as part of integrated ERP solution

Paramaribo, Suriname and Toronto, ON. February 23, 2017

N.V. EnergieBedrijven Suriname (EBS) - a public company responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity for over 500,000 citizens of the country of Suriname - has selected CIS Infinity from Advanced Utility Systems, a division of N. Harris Computer Corporation (Advanced) to manage electric utility billing and the associated customer information.

Along with CIS Infinity, EBS selected a complementary Financial Information System (FIS) and Work/Asset Management System (WMS) from Cogsdale Corporation – a sister division of Advanced – for a complete and fully integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. Both Advanced and Cogsdale are divisions of N. Harris Computer Corporation (Harris).

The procurement of an ERP solution for EBS was funded by a loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). This initiative is part of a wider effort to upgrade critical infrastructure and information systems of EBS for the purposes of strengthening the country’s electricity sector.

Randis Koster, Chief Financial Officer and one of the Project Sponsors for EBS comments, “EBS is accountable to the residents of Suriname. Therefore, the selection process for an ERP solution had to be rigorous, thorough and metric driven. We had to ensure we selected a software solution that provided us with all the tools required to best serve the community as well as support our needs well into the future.”

“Based on our intensive evaluation process, Harris surpassed the other vendors when it came to product, team qualifications and industry knowledge.”

EBS represents the second customer in South America for Advanced.

Peter Fanous, Executive Vice President for Advanced notes, “We are extremely pleased to be partnering with EBS on this implementation and are proud to support our customers in effectively managing their energy sectors. We are committed to serving our customers in South America and the Caribbean and look forward to a strong partnership with EBS.”
